Confirmation of the arrangements for the 2023 SCHOMS Annual Conference 4 - 6 July & Training Day 3 July | Swansea University - Bay Campus
Training Day
MON 3 July
For those who are booked on the SCHOMS AVIXA Training Day, this will be held at the Swansea University | Bay Campus, Great Hall Room GH014. Registration from 11:00. Training session commences with welcome at 11:55.
Arrival | Check-in I Parking
Parking – P2 on the campus map. Please make sure to park in the rear end of the car park. The first 6 rows are reserved for university staff permit holders. If you have not yet provided your number plate via the link sent by your organisers then please make sure you add you number plate on the tablet available at the check-in.

Check In and Check Out – Accommodation check in will be at the UPP reception (see the Swansea Accommodation Welcome Pack) here is a Google maps link too. Check-in is from 15:00 until 20:00. Check out is 10:00am on your day of departure, keys must be returned to the Library.

Conference Venue
The Exhibition will be held in The Great Hall a flagship building on the Bay Campus
The key space within our impressive Great Hall complex is the magnificent 700-seat auditorium with flexible staging and international-standard acoustics; making it the perfect place in South Wales to put on performances or large conferences and events. The seating in the Great Hall Auditorium retracts so that it can be converted into a large, flat-floor space which is perfect for gala dinners and exhibitions.
The Campus was opened in 2015 and SCHOMS will also be using space in the equally impressive surrounding of the Engineering Building
Conference Transport
With conference taking place as a campus based event this year transport to and from the accommodation and conference venue is not required. Accommodation is a short walk to the venue.
Return transport is provided for the Conference Conference Dinner and the Sponsored Diner.
Welcome BBQ & Bar
Mon 3 July
For those who have opted to arrive on Monday, we have a welcome BBQ and BAR evening arranged at the Great Hall. Outside games and entertainment weather permitting. Dress code for the willing, "The Brighter the Better"
The exhibitors have also been invited to this event offering the opportunity for informal networking before the conference gets underway.

WiFi
Academic visitors can access University Wi-Fi via Eduroam connection
Our free Wi-Fi network for non-academic visitors to the University is called SwanseaUni-Visitors. This is and open network which requires users to sign in via a web page:

Connect to the SwanseaUni-Visitors SSID. Once you are connected you should be prompted to sign-in, follow the log in instructions.

SCHOMS Partner Exhibition
TUE 4 July
Venue: The Great Hall
35 companies will be exhibiting this year. Details of the exhibitors are on the Partners Page of the SCHOMS website. The exhibition floor plan with the list of exhibitors are on the conference app.
Please ensure you spend time at the exhibition and visit as many stands as possible.
The format of the Exhibition Day once again includes networking discussions for both delegates and exhibitors. The exhibition will run throughout the day and will conclude with the Exhibitors’ raffle. You will need to be there to put your name in the hat to be in with a chance of a prize!
SCHOMS Conference Dinner
TUE 4 July
The SCHOMS Conference dinner will take place at the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea.
transport to and from the venue will be provided.
Sponsored Dinner
WED 6 July
The dinner is being sponsored by Panasonic Connect.
The venue is The Dragon Hotel, Swansea and transport to and from will be provided.
Dress code for the evening is smart / casual but no jeans and trainers – please wear your delegate badge.

Please note that a photographer will be present at various times throughout the event and the sessions are being recorded. This may result in the recording and publication of your image.
Please advise us at conference registration if you do not wish to be included in the photographs / videos.
Cancellation and Non-Attendance
If you are no longer able to attend, please let us know as soon as possible.
No Shows will be charged the full delegate fee.
