January 31st – 3rd February saw the return of the valued SCHOMS ISE Barcelona sponsored buyers’ scheme where 40 members had a thrilling 3 days of exhibition, presentations, stand tours, networking and nights out. ISE is the world’s leading professional AV and systems integration show and began in 2004 in Geneva with circa 3500 attendees. Since then, it has shown unprecedented growth year on year in Amsterdam. The 2023 home is Barcelona Fira Gran Vía and during this year’s event, 58,107 attendees from 155 countries were able to explore 56,870m2 of floor space including six technology halls and a dedicated audio demo room.
The Scheme commenced with a SCHOMS Partnership networking evening which provided a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and new. The show commenced with the formal opening by King Felipe VI of Spain on Tuesday 31st Jan. SCHOMS facilitated a number of presentations and stand tours from our partners Mersive, Sennheiser and Panasonic . There was a dedicated SCHOMS lounge and additional opportunities to attend training and networking events throughout the show. Three high profile yet diverse keynote speeches included; ‘how technology trends in the gaming industry drives audiovisual innovation,’ to ‘the Americas Cup challenges of event sets’ to ‘how Innovative is the AV Industry.’
This year the SCHOMS Exec had the opportunity to meet with Sarah Joyce, Chief Global Officer and David Labuskes CEO of AVIXA, Chris Lavelle, Senior Director of Development and Ben Barnard, Reginal Manager to further strengthen our AVIXA partnership. We met with members of the SCHOMS USA sister organisation ETC where I recorded a pod cast in the Influencers Lounge on educational technology and challenges and opportunities in UK higher education. We also met with the US-based organisation HETMA to share knowledge, ideas and best practice.
“It has been wonderful, thanks to all the folk that made it happen so seamlessly and looked after us so well. We are grateful for all your hard work SCHOMS”
