The last few years have created a lot of challenges, but also presented a number of opportunities. This leads me to make an announcement filled with mixed emotions on behalf of SCHOMS Executive that our long-serving, or some might say long-suffering, administrator Catherine Cadogan will be leaving SCHOMS at the end of March to take on new challenges.

Catherine has been the 'glue' that has kept our busy association together since 2005 and has planned and attended pretty much every conference and ISE event since then!  Even her move to France over 7 years ago didn't change the professional service Catherine has provided for SCHOMS - a pioneer of remote working!

It has been such a great pleasure to work with the association over the last 17 years and see it grow and develop from a small group of member institutions to the lively and supportive community it is today. I have worked alongside some great Exec members over the years - I would like to acknowledge in particular the inimitable Anne Mumford and her successor Toni Kelly. Their vision, enthusiasm, leadership and hard work over many years formed the basis of the successful group you see today.  I’ve really enjoyed working with SCHOMS and being part of the development of the group during that time, but now feels like the right time for me to move on to some new challenges and adventures.  I wish the group every success for its future endeavours.
Catherine

Catherine is a well-known and well-loved member of the SCHOMS community that we will miss dearly. Many of you will have had interactions with her at conferences, ISE and via the SCHOMS office over the years. I remember turning up to my first conference in Hull without really knowing what to expect. I was greeted by Catherine who welcomed me, made sure I knew what I was doing and were I was going and helped with introducing me to other members. Having since joined the exec, I have an increased appreciation for the work that goes on to deliver our conferences and how important Catherine has been to their success over the years as SCHOMS has grown. So please join us in wishing Catherine the very best for the future.

Looking Forward

The Executive are working hard behind the scenes to ensure SCHOMS will continue to operate smoothly. We have made interim arrangements to assist us in the initial period up to the conference, so please continue to contact the office via [email protected] with any questions etc. Longer term there are plans being put in place that will hopefully be finalised later in the year, further details to follow.
